family farm meets modern charm

My first design project was my 10 x 10 box of a childhood bedroom, the crowning glory of which was my awesome waterbed. I recreated that space every time a new color or swatch of fabric caught my attention…so many times my parents lost count. The magic I could create with a little bit of paint and a few key accessories created a fascination with design I’ve never lost.

As the fourth generation to grow up on our family farm in rural Oregon, I was taught the power of tradition and perseverance early. From my parents, I gained an appreciation of art, cooking, independence and nature. From the simple life we lived on the farm, I gained an appreciation of antiques, vintage curiosities and unfussy surroundings.

My early adulthood included design school and apprenticeship plus managing a design showroom while working on various custom design projects. Captivated by my ongoing love of antiques and all things vintage, I began managing the largest vintage and antique resale business west of the Mississippi, and then BLINK! A decade flew by and not-so-suddenly I had a network of local artists, crafters, and antique and vintage dealers with the same vision: Finding stunning, uncommon ways to solve everyday interior design challenges.

From a young age, Jack was very creative and was involved in photography, art, and acting. He has a degree in addiction psychology and musical theater.  He is currently an organizational psychology major with a Spanish minor.

Jack creates, primarily, textured art and he took up art within the last few years as a way of upcycling and as a renewal of older materials.  Everything he creates is used from recycled materials, vintage frames/canvas and discarded parts.  Every piece you buy is helping reduce waste and support various local artists.

His philosophy has always been - ‘It’s fine’. I don’t sweat the small stuff or the big stuff. Life is too short to be weighed down by anything. Brush yourself off, say ‘it’s fine’, accept who you are, and keep moving forward. You have to live life for you and nobody else.

His favorite artists are -  Andy Warhol, banksy, David Godlis, Annie Lebowitz, Stuart Semple, Dale Latta, Jim Riswold, Don Sompi.
